Liaoning
Provincial Archives is
the keeping base of the
permanent archives, and
is the developing center
of archives information
in Liaoning. It is also
one of the archives firstly
open to the public in
China. Since the opening
of the historical archives
in 1980, it has seriously
carried out the opening
policy, deeply implemented
the Archives Law, and
strengthened the development
of archives information
and the access of archives.
It has up to now received
more than 500,000 researchers
both at home and abroad,
providing a great deal
of valuable archives information
for their historical researches,
career inspection, implementing
policies, and solving
disputes. Therefore, many
outstanding issues have
been solved, and good
interests have been made
in terms of society and
economy. At the same time,
it has received scholars
and experts from more
than ten countries such
as Japan, the United States,
Canada, South Korea, and
have established good
relations with these countries.
In recent years, Liaoning
Provincial Archives, in
order to further open
the archives, has greatly
strengthened the basic
archives work, the arrangement
and the cataloguing of
the archives, established
integrated and convenient
finding aids. Also, to
strengthened the service
function, Liaoning Provincial
Archives has provided
various services such
as the duplication, the
scanning, CD rewriting,
the evidence. In addition,
it has provided the archival
consultations by letter,
by telephone, and through
the internet. Chinese
citizens and organizations,
with lawful identifications
such as the letter of
introduction, the working
card, and the identity
card, can access the archives.
Foreign researchers and
foreign organizations
must contact Liaoning
Provincial Archives before
hand, and show their identification,
explain their objectives,
and the accessed scope
of the archives. If they
have got the permission,
they can access the archives.
